Labor & Workmanship

Our standard warranty is 30 days across all repairs. Workmanship issues may be considered outside the 30-day window on a case-by-case basis.

Larger jobs carry longer labor coverage. HVAC replacements and roofs may include up to a 1-year labor warranty.

Parts

Parts are generally warrantied by the manufacturer rather than by Lula. Standard manufacturer parts warranties are typically as follows:

  • Appliances — 1 year
  • HVAC — 5–10 years, depending on registration status
  • Roofs — 20 years
  • Water heaters (tank) — 6 years (typical; some models 6–12)
  • Garbage disposals — 1 year (premium models up to 8–10 years)
  • Windows — 10–20 years, or limited lifetime on some brands
  • Garage door openers — motor typically 1–15 years, depending on model
  • Smart thermostats — 1–3 years
  • Ceiling fans — 1 year

Note: Parts warranties are set by the manufacturer and vary by brand, model, and whether the product was registered. Registration (especially for HVAC) can significantly extend coverage, so we recommend registering eligible equipment.

How to Submit Potential Warranty Work

If you believe an issue is covered under warranty, submit it the same way as any other maintenance request — through the LuMi process. Our team will then triage the work to determine how it's handled.

  1. Submit the request through LuMi. Follow the standard maintenance request steps, describing the issue and referencing the prior repair if you know it.
  2. Our team triages the request. We'll review the issue to determine whether it relates to previous repair work and falls within the applicable warranty period.
  3. We resolve it based on the outcome:
    • If it's warranty-related — the issue relates to a previous repair and falls within the warranty period — we'll fix it free of charge.
    • If it's unrelated or a new issue — we'll move forward under the approved NTE (Not-to-Exceed) limit for the work.

Tip: Including details about the original repair — what was done and roughly when — helps our team triage warranty claims faster.
